Valle Vista, Los Padres NF - "San Andreas Fault along the base of the hills"

In the past 30 years I had driven past Valle Vista Campground in the LPNF many times but on this occasion we decided to drive in and set up camp. This view shows the San Joaquin Valley to the north below all the haze.
 The moon at 6 PM.
 Our camp at 10 PM.
In the morning this bird perched next to our camp and serenaded us with its song for about an hour.
Later in the afternoon we drove north on Cerro Noreste Highway toward CA 166.
We drove a short distance along Soda Lake Road toward the Carrizo Plain to check to see if there were any wild flowers. Tremblor Range in the distance. San Andreas Fault upper right along the base of the hills and through the small dry lake.
Observing no wildflowers we drove back to CA 166. San Andreas Fault along the base of the hills on the left and through the small valley upper center.
This old gasoline station sits at the junction of Soda Lake Road and CA 166. In 1983 while studying the San Andreas Fault I stopped here for fuel and talked with the owner for awhile. The station is less than 100 yards from the fault.
Spotted this four wheel drive panel truck parked along side the road in Cuyama.
